Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Verbly ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the Verbly service:
- Email address — collected when you sign in with Google, used to identify your account.
- Saved words — the vocabulary words you save while browsing, including translations, language pair, and optional context.
- Usage data — the number of translations performed per day, used to enforce free-tier limits and improve the service.
We do not collect: browsing history, page content, personal identifiers beyond your email, or any data unrelated to the translation and vocabulary features.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and sync your saved vocabulary across devices.
- To manage your subscription plan (free vs. premium) and enforce usage limits.
- To improve the Verbly extension and service quality.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with row-level security. Data is stored in the United States. Supabase complies with industry-standard security practices.
Vocabulary words are also cached locally in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) for offline access.
4. Third-Party Services
Verbly integrates with the following third-party services:
- DeepL API — for translation. Text you select is sent to DeepL's servers. See DeepL's Privacy Policy.
- Google OAuth — for sign-in authentication. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Lemon Squeezy — for payment processing if you subscribe to Premium. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — for database and authentication backend. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Export your saved vocabulary at any time via the Vocabulary page.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at verbly.customerservice@gmail.com.
7. Children's Privacy
Verbly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Verbly after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
